Named among the “Best in the West” by the Princeton Review in 2012, California State University - East Bay (CSUEB) is a four-year public institution that offers 50 bachelor’s degree programs, 35 graduate degree programs and 39 certificate or credential programs. CSUEB is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is one of 23 campuses in the California State University system. CSUEB serves more than 13,000 students annually. Popular undergraduate majors at CSUEB include criminal justice administration, psychology, business administration and nursing.
Chabot College is a two-year community college with certificate and associate degree programs in areas such as history, graphic design, communication studies and business. Chabot College also offers a number of short-term technical certificate programs, including electronics systems technology, automotive technology and emergency medical technician (EMT). For students interested in earning a bachelor’s degree, Chabot College has transfer agreements with California State University - Monterey Bay and seven campuses within the University of California system. Online Learning in Hayward
CSUEB’s continuing education division offers fully online courses, degree programs, certificate programs and continuing education credits. Online degree offerings include a bachelor’s degree completion program in business administration and master’s degree programs in education and health care administration. At the certificate level, online students can study technical writing, medical terminology, payroll management and more. Online courses at CSUEB are fully web-based and typically 11 weeks in duration.
Chabot College offers a variety of online courses, with a selection of fully online or hybrid degree and certificate programs. For example, online associate degrees in behavioral sciences or business can be delivered 100 percent via distance learning, whereas a certificate in retail management requires 20 percent in-person participation.
