The city of Savannah has two four-year universities that are part of the University System of Georgia. Savannah State University (SSU) is a historically black college offering associate's, bachelor's, and master's degree programs in fields such as business, science and technology, teacher education, liberal arts, and social sciences. SSU's School of Teacher Education features federal and discretionary grant programs designed to help disadvantaged students become certified K-6 and 6-12 teachers in the state of Georgia. Home to 7,100 students and 100 degree programs, Armstrong Atlantic State University is Savannah's second public institution in the University System of Georgia. Armstrong Atlantic offers undergraduate and graduate degrees through its colleges of science and technology, health professions, liberal arts, and education. Savannah Technical College (STC) is Savannah's only two-year community college. Students at Armstrong Atlantic State University can take advantage of online and blended programs that are taught by the same faculty as traditional classes. Online programs award undergraduate and graduate degrees, certificates and teaching endorsements. Armstrong Atlantic's online programs are approved by the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools and the University System of Georgia. SSU also offers a variety of online courses, as well as a fully online Bachelor of Business Administration program for transfer students.
The Savannah College of Art and Design's online programs include bachelor's degrees in advertising, graphic design, and photography as well as a master's degree program in arts administration.
