Conway is home to three major institutions of higher education: University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix College, and Central Baptist College.
The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) is a four-year public college with an enrollment of approximately 13,300. Through its six different colleges and departments, UCA offers 80 undergraduate degrees, 39 graduate degrees, and five doctoral degrees. They are the only school in Arkansas that offers programs for Occupational Therapy, as well as unique programs in African-American studies, Addiction Studies, Religious Studies, and Digital Filmmaking. UCA also boasts the largest Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, and Dietetics programs in the state. Another thing that makes this institution so unique is its optional “Residential Colleges” program—which consists of students not only living in the dorms together but also attending the same courses based on their area of study to make group studying more convenient.
Hendrix College, a private, undergraduate, liberal arts school, is a bit smaller with an enrollment of 1,500 students. They are affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and also offer over 70 clubs and organizations for students. The Central Baptist College (CBC) is the smallest of the three higher education options in Conway, with an enrollment of 970. It is also a private, four-year college that offers a small, community feel.
